hi guys welcome to professional
communication tips from the kiss Academy
and of course kiss stands for keep it
short simple and specific for more
effective results faster in this video
in the next two videos I'm going to show
you how to easily create a profile
statement for your resume now if you
need to know what the difference is
between an objective statement and a
profile statement take a look at my
previous video tip and you can find the
link in the description of this video
just below here so let's get started the
profile statement contains three parts
the first part briefly describes your
experience your education and your
skills and how they match to the job
that you are applying for part one can
be written in one short sentence and
this sentence contains three parts part
one very briefly introduces you so if
you have work experience you can begin
something like this a dedicated
professional or focused professional or
a reliable professional now dedicated
means you're loyal reliable means people
can depend on on you and focused means
you're goal-oriented you can use any of
these adjectives for new graduates you
can start your profile statement
something like this a recent graduate
with a diploma in business communication
or a recent graduate with a degree in
environmental engineering and if you're
still a student you can start something
like this a young professional working
towards a degree in Business
Administration or whatever you're
studying the second section of part 1 of
your profile statement includes just a
brief description of how much experience
you have so for example you might have
one year two years three years
experience or maybe three and a half or
one and a half in those cases say more
than one or more than 3 or 1 plus or 3
plus years experience so so far our part
one would sound something like this a
recent graduate from the Diploma in
business communications program with
more than one year experience in now
don't worry if you're still a student
and you don't have work experience
simply say a young professional working
towards a diploma in business
communication with experience in and now
we come to the third section of part one
and the third section includes a
description of what you have experienced
in now this is a very important part
because we want to make sure it matches
the type of job that you're applying for
so let's say you're applying for an
administrative assistant job it would
sound something like this a recent
graduate from the diploma and business
communications program with more than
one year experience in administration
and if you don't have that specific job
experience don't worry just list some of
the tasks or things that you have done
that are related to the type of job
think about the duties of an
administrative assistant think about the
skills that person needs to have and the
easiest way to find out is just look at
the job description every job
description will have a list of the
skills you require simply identify the
ones you have enlist them so you could
say something like a young professional
working towards a diploma in business
communication with experience in
scheduling organizing managing projects
and using Microsoft Office tools
this concludes part 1 of our profile
statement but wait don't go yet there is
homework I'd like you to write your part
one sentence of your profile statement
and post it below in the comments let's
see how many great examples we can see
well I hope this tip was useful to you
make sure you come back next week and
the week after that to see the final two

profile statement for your resume
